I just installed the AKE on my RGS. I used the same set up as CPT_Carrera, installing the rider headset connector and the dash panel kit. Did not pair at first. The led blinks red only. It took about 10 min trying to turn off the AKE using the AKE control button. I was able to clear all pairings. I was finally able to pair my Cardo G9. It worked great, voice controls and sound, I even completed a call.
When I restart the bike the AKE only blinks red. It will not pair. My G9 states it has connected but the AKE only blinks red. The only way to pair again is to delete all pairings, which takes about 10-15 min. because the AKE control button would not respond.
When you turn the power on what color is the led blinking? Mine only blinks red. The G9 is only about 1 foot away from the AKE.
When you switch between stereo and duplex how many times do you press the button. When I press the button the AKE does not always respond. Even to turn off the unit I have to press it numerous times, holding it down from 10 to 20 seconds each time.
I tried running a power line directly to the AKE, no difference. I tried running the ground wire, no difference. The AKE acts the same if I am on accessory or the bike is running.
I am thinking I have a bad unit since the AKE control button only operates intermittently.
I was going to say your device was faulting and probably just your power source but I see where you already changed that and experimented with it. Your switch should blink red rapidly at first and once paired it will go to a single green blink. You press it once to flip to stereo and you'll see the double green blink. Press it for 3 seconds and release and it should power off. You hold it for 10 seconds and then quickly press it twice and you have deleted all pairings. During that ten second press the lights will alternate green and red.
You say when you restart the bike the device blinks red. Are you using a dash panel switch? If so, is it off before you start the bike? It should be so you avoid causing your AKE device to turn off and on abruptly which will cause it to fault every time. See my video around page 6 of this thread and you should just be able to see the lights and pressing of the switch.

I just installed a AKE .. I can only get it to blink red and green. I am trying to pair it with the sena 20s
Any suggestions?
Not knowing what steps you've tried in the initial pairing sequence makes it tough to say but the steps you should follow are as follows;
1)Clear all pairings for the AKE. (You can do this by holding the multifunction button in for 10 sec on power up, release and immediately tap twice)
2) turn off your AKE device
3) clear all pairings on the sena 20(you can r establish all your connections with your other devices later)
4) place your headset in phone pairing mode(needs to be phone not multimedia pairing)
5) turn on the AKE device
After following the instructions from CPT_Carrera go to page 15 in the 20S owners manual and install the per instructions in 5.1. Moble Phone Pairing. AKE thinks the Sena is a phone. Should pair right away.
Forgot to include this image. I thought this one would look cool if I had a tank console. As far as all functions with this setup that's a yes. I've used voice commands, phone, and CB now. You can only talk when you put the unit back in mono/duplex mode. When in stereo the mic is not active.
Does the CB and music function the same as it did in the wired system? CB would overrule music and then you can PTT to talk on CB and music will stop (or when you shift from stereo to mono, music stops)?

Yes the CB mutes the music, music will still play in mono or stereo mode.
OK so when I used CPT Carrera link the system did not come up. when I type PB-HC2 into the search on the AKE website it doesn't find it. Also if I pull up HD systems it just shows helmet installed systems. Would like this system. Want to get rid of the wire....
Any help. Is this old Geezer doing something wrong?
Dooohhhhhh, I found it.

Since I don't use a CB, and don't really care to use voice commands on the bike (I use the joysticks mainly, or pull over to set a route in GPS) I have bought a pair of the Sena 20S and an SM10. I am going to wire up the SM10 to the Harley 7 pin, and use the 20S for commo with other bikes / passenger, and stereo / gps on bike. I already wired a 3 port (and 1 usb) charger in the saddlebag, and plan on putting the SM10 in there with some 3M velcro. I'm going to drill a hole in the saddlebag to route the wires through a rubber grommet into the bag.
I used the 20S last weekend with my pillion, and I have to say the sound clarity for commo and stereo quality is AWESOME, and since I use a FF helmet, this route is better (and cheaper) for me versus upgrading stereo speakers and amp on bike. Also, I figure it will be less annoying to those around me when I am jamming out to Iron Maiden, lol.
I can say the music sharing via BT is flaky with the 20s, but that should not be a problem once I install the SM10 since it is DUAL BT stream. No need to "share music" then. Just stream to each headset individually. The flakiness may have been my phone, it is an older model android. I have found wi-fi connections going in and out cause this, and I forgot to turn off the wi-fi.
Also, the cellphones can individually be paired to the headsets, so the wife can talk on the phone on the back if she chooses, or I can. I do not link my phone to the bike and USUALLY do not answer when riding, but I may make a call to the wife occasionally and that may be the only reason I would use the phone with the headset.
Once I get it all set up I will throw some pics in my album.
