Default Necessary? No... Better? 😎😎😎☺️☺️☺️

I have been one of the folks that has not been inclined to get rid of the stock header. I have no data to share after replacing with the Jackpot header, but I can tell you the PV2 loves this header. Two auto tunes from a decent base map and I got a 1% indication... I know the bike has a better throttle response and is getting 44 mpg. Tone is nice and deep. It is still nice and quiet with the CVO Slip-Ons.

Anyone else do a "sort of stage one" like this? What are your thoughts?

I'm not sure I should post my thoughts, but here goes. The sound and performance from the pipe is great (Jackpot 212 head pipe, CVO take off muffs, K&N filter, and V & H FP3), but the fitment of the pipe is terrible. I had a very difficult time getting the pipe to fit without it touching the Cam cover, but I eventually did by shimming it at the mounting bracket. (Fuel Moto offered me a return with a full refund). And then came the Heat Shields, which fit terribly. (See thread Damn Heat Shields) One poster was told by FM to use an extra clamp as a shim, No they are advertised to use the Stock heat shields. I have been very disappointed in this purchase! I'm by no means trashing Fuel Moto, I know they have a great reputation. End of Rant.

having played with the power vision and different headers to 212 pipes in general tune nicely. Fuel moto really should start doing their own heat shields could be offered as a option.

Mine was a very simple installation as fitment was spot on. I took my time and took forum advice on new clamps...

Sorry to hear of difficulties. Hope you get it sorted out.

I just did the new clamp thing earlier this week to no avail. I'm going with a Rush 7017HO, and going to shut up about it. I'm sure you guys are tired of my whining.

Thank you for posting!
I was going to start my own thread but I can add on to this one.
Fuel Moto 2-1-2 the cheapest one they have, K&N filter element, STOCK CVO mufflers and Power Vision tuner.
I did two auto-tune sessions, am using session #1, it feels best, did it in cooler weather.
I am thrilled with the around town and highway performance. I can't imagine it would improve enough for me to notice if I took it to a dyno tune whipping post.
My goal is touring comfort, I'm done with ear bleed mufflers, it's not fun at the end of the day to be worn out from the loud drone.
On a side note:
If the part does not fit, return it.

Your right Oldmike, I should have taken FM up on their offer of the return/refund. Hard headed I suppose?
