Unless someone on the street writes your LP number down or commits it to memory, most see it then forget it. If you post a picture on the internet, it is static and as much as I would love to think that all forum members and lurkers have good intentions, one never knows. Add that to some of the nasty exchanges you see between perfect strangers on these forums and my preference is to put as little as I can about my identity on static Internet forum pages and keep information that I post on the topic at hand.
Ask someone else and their response and reasoning may be different.
I'm the same way. I retired from the Police Department (civilian position, not a cop) and dealt with the various computer systems, intel gathering, and research on the internet. If someone has the time and energy they can find out a lot about a person...even if they have just a tiny bit of information with which to start. Takes some work, but it can be done. That's why I don't put anything about myself on the internet that could be used to "find" me. I do regular searches for me on all the major search engines to see what's out there. I have almost no internet footprint at all.
Yeah, maybe I go a bit overboard with it, but just cuz I'm paranoid doesn't mean people aren't watching me. Now...where did I put my tinfoil hat?
Ooh! Ooh! I have a 2015 Ultra with the saddle bag lights. I try not to ride during dusk or night time cuz of the stupid antlered forest rats (deer) in these parts, but the other night I had to ride home. My wife followed me home in her car and she said I was very visible, even from a quarter mile away. Those lights are worth every penny.
I love the look of these lights and want to get them but I want to ditch the factory rear signals on my SGS. Is there a different bracket I could buy that would still have a plate mount with a little white light and no signals, so the bag lights would be the only rear facing lights?
Very nice! I'm all about bright lights so I can be seen. I'd like to do those between the bags and fender lights but I'm going to hold off as I will probably get the CVO style fender once I get my extended bags.
