What is the best 3/4 helmet/headset combo for the infotainment system?
Depends on the shape of your head. The Harley helmets are made by HJC as I recall. HJC helmets don't fit me worth a darn, they are shaped for "round" heads and mine is more of an "intermediate oval". I have an HJC Sy-Max which is the flip front one that Harley sells. I had to carve some of the EPS out of the forehead area to make it fit comfortably. Of course I also carved out some of the impact protection.
I wear a Bell Mag-9 3/4 helmet on the Limited and use the Harley headset that came with the bike. One day I'd like to move up to a high end J&M or EdSet. The Harley unit is adequate for now.
Nolan for me and or Arai for Mrs. both 3/4 With J&M Elite head set is the best fit combo for us .Had several HD head sets and helmets but we weren't comfortable and happy the way they performed.
I am using the HD Full/Half helmet headset. I am familiar with Chatterbox headsets and this has the look and feel and most likely, manufactured by Chatterbox. A cheap Chinese product with the HD price tag.
It installs fairly easily.
It's expensive for just a headset and the quality of sound is minimal. The connector is sketchy and I can barely hear the left side as it has a wiring short. Takes a little wiggling to get it going. My local dealer mentioned a lot of similar complaints from customers.
Used J&M on the Wings and they are nice units. The best thing is the split cord, much nicer for the passenger with their plug being on the side of the speaker pod.
