My wife & I both had the IMC versions available from Sierra Electronics. Since she won't wear anything but a half helmet without ear covers, Nancy still has hers for use on her V Star equipped with the J&M CB Unit. The one I used with the system on my Royal Star Venture won't work with my Limited, so I gave it away.
But - Nancy won't wear hers anytime she doesn't absolutely have to, & I don't blame her. After maybe an hour or so of use, the area behind our ears starts to get uncomfortable & after a few hours downright hurts. I had given up on mine & just went with a 3/4 helmet with a J&M headset inside of it. I use it for group rides when I need to communicate with other bikes. But when Nancy & I are out together, either the 2 of us on my bike or with her riding her's, we don't use the CBs.
If you get them, I hope they work for you. They didn't do to well for us.
I also bought these, I prefer the Harley ones. For one, the coil cord and shirt clip on the Harley ones make them better, I think the sound is a little better on the Harley one too. These work ok for my OL as she doesn't ride very much. I will say though, even the Harley ones hurt my ears after a while with just sunglasses on, I wear them around my neck, so the mic is still in front of my mouth then i listen through the speakers.
I have the Harley set for half helmet/no helmet. It's OK. Not the greatest for music, but allows me to converse with my wife. It does start to hurt behind my ears after a while.
I did a stage 1 recently with Fullsac header and 4 inch Rinehart mufflers. The exhaust noise is turning out to be louder than I expected and I'm concerned about hearing damage. I recently purchased a Bell 500 open face helmet and a set of these http://www.motochello.com/shop-audio...idson-headset/
They're high, but I like the idea that I can swap to earbuds. They're to be delivered today and the helmet tomorrow. Hope they work out.
I bought these and I see what you guys are saying. It doesn't hurt your ears, but actually pushes on your head, right behind your ears, on top. I got the Heat Gun out and made an adjustment right at the hinge in the middle, in the rear. Heated them at the center hinge, and pulled both sides down. It was like magic, they fit better, no more pushing behind my ears. For the money, they work great.
