info system turn off
I walk up to the bike, turn the ignition on, then go about the business of jacket, helmet, gloves. Then get on, find neutral, light'er up!
This does a couple things for me:
- it allows time for the computer we call a "radio" to boot all the way up before it takes the "bounce" of the starter motor cranking. Using this method, my radio ALWAYS stays off if it was off when I parked.
- it seems to keep the security system and hence, the audible alarm from getting stupid, chirping, and otherwise freaking out.
YMMV, but for me, this works, and has solved much of my frustration with that very issue. Just takes a couple weeks of doing it every time to make it a habit.

BTW, that's a damn fine looking bike in your sig pic. I've got it's identical twin sitting in my hangar with 395 miles on it!
