I've never really cared for the pins for our saddlebags ... pre rushmore models had a problem of getting their pins popped off easily from thieves and the rushmore models ... well, you already know that story.
I've been using this set for several years now. While it is more cumbersome to remove your saddlebags, you have the good feeling while riding down the road they're aren't going anywhere. You can assemble the parts at your local hardware store and save a few bucks if you like. Or, just order from Brukus.

I agree, I paid $2.99 at the hardware store. You do not need the safety allen head for security. Just lock the saddle bag anybody can buy the tips for the safety allen heads at most auto parts store. Jus my
I spent the money on the brukus kit. Could I have spent less at the hardware store. My brain doesn't work that way and it would never occur to me. Aside from that my bags are screwed on with the kit including the bag that fell off on the highway last week. Talked to the dealer today once again and I have to bring them the scratched up bag to get a replacement and that's no big deal. I don't care what fix the moco comes up with. The brukus kit stays on.....
No disrespect HOG, but why anyone would spend $30 and wait days for delivery on something you can have in hand within minutes for $5-8 bucks is beyond me.

I went with Brukus a coupleof years ago on my last bike, and it was the first purchase for this bike. Yeah, I could have saved a few dollars knocking off their idea, but I figure I'll keep supporting small businesses.
