Default clutch master cylinder fluid milky grey

It started off when ever I pull the clutch lever in, it would squeak. I sprayed a little silicone lube around the lever to see if it would quiet it down. I noticed today after a 250 mile ride that the annoying squeak is back which led me to look at it. It had the recalls done and never looked to see what the fluid looked like until today. It is definitely a milky grey color and not the amber clear colored brake fluid. What the hell is it. I did not know they used this color fluid. Its too late to call Dealership today.

It's normal, been talked about it on here a couple of times. the brake fluid mixes with the lube they use to put it together. I really don't like it and was going to change it, but that was 10k miles ago, oh well, someday I will.

I have owned several sportbikes with hydraulic clutches and I have never seen this before. It should be as clean as the brake fluid. I will call dealership tomorrow to check. I still cant figure out my annoying squeak when I pull my clutch in. Brake lever does it too but is not as annoying since it is not used constantly.

A. If you are going to do what you were in the first place, why ask questions here, then ignore the answers?

The grey color comes from the assembly lube, and is perfectly normal.... but the dealer will, or should, tell you that.

B. Have you lubed your clutch lever? "spraying around" is not lubing. Remove the lever, clean and grease the pin, bushing, and lever hole just as the service manual tells you to.

Mine developed a squeak, I took it apart and did it right, squeak gone. It is a 5 minute job.

Dealership was closed when I noticed this. I was just asking the HD community what was wrong.
I was afraid of losing the clip that goes on the pin which would result in trip to Dealership but will definitely give it a try.

Don't re-use the snap ring. And don't buy them at the dealer.

A snap ring is a snap ring, HD buys them, and then resells them at about a 1000% markup.

Go buy a pack, they're cheap. Real cheap.

IIRC, the brake pin and clutch pin are different sizes. Pull them both, take them both to a good hardware or auto parts store, they should have then in stock.
