I have been to 3 different dealers since the 2016 release and have seen most of the paint schemes and let tell you I hate most of them, the graphics they went with on some, like the cvo street glide and the cosmic blue limited are very very cheesy, looks like Jap bikes, even the cvo limited in black n silver which the main color itself is nice but they put a cream color pinstripe that doesn't match anything on the bike.
The one that I did not think I would like is the softtail s in army green but its actually a very nice green, just dont like the star.
I ride a 2014 limited and dont know exactly what they changed on the 16 limited but I hate the way it sits, really uncomfortable position and no it was not the low.
I did also sit on a cvo roadglide and loved it but I haven't seen the 16's yet so not sure if the paint schemes will be cheesy as well.
I too have seen many of the new models. Some of the colors are cool. Cosmic blue pearl is good, but the graphics kill it. The CVO limited in silver and cobalt blue looks great, the graphics are even ok, if they were painted on and not a sticker.
The Street Glide in bass boat gold is hideous and should be sold to pimps.
The Heritage in white/turquoise blue is kinda cool, only because it gives a retro look to the bike. Not that I would own it.
The Slim S in green is just bad ***. I could even live with the star. I don't typically like green, but it really works on that bike with the rest being blacked out. With the 110, that bike is big fun to ride. Out of all the new models, that would be one I would buy.
The purple looks good on Barney, not on the FLHTK. That being said, I don't like purple bikes, at least not ones with lots of body parts. Maybe on a sporty.
Suffice it to say, unless it's a Slim S I'm not buying a 16. I'll continue making my Charcoal Pearl/Black bike, mine
The army green soft tail was awesome. Me and the wife stares at that thing for awhile. I wouldn't mind having one of those in my living room. The one I didn't care for was Mavericks in Dallas has a gold glittered RG on the floor. Looks like a friggin bowling ball sitting there sparkling with the super heavy metallic. Don't think I would get something like that.
The limited lines haven't changed for 7-8 years. Still got the high tech straight line running thru the gas tank, wow, that takes real skill to tape that off!
If you want 2 tone then the Ultra or CVO is the only choice, Well, 40K for a CVO is out of reach for the general public.
You could always drop another 3K into it and come up with your own ideas for paint.
Don't know who's in charge of paint now at Harley but WTF. I'm thinkin it's got to be a pimp. Not only is that bass boat flake cheesy looking the new graphics look like cheap stickers. The only model this year that caught my attention is that Softail Slim S in military garb too. I buy new bikes alot. I've bought 3 2014s and 2 2015s in 18 months. No danger of buying any of this stuff in the touring line, I'll customize the paint and goodies on the '15 with the saved $$
