I have been very happy with the download for my set-up for a year and a half already ... when I get on it hard at times I'd get a little decal pop..not bad though. With the Speedometer update there is a decal pop screen update too.. I tried it and added "one firecracker" on the screen and now Iam not able to get any decal pop no matter how hard I lean on her.. great job V&H!
One firecracker cured mine, too! My speedometer is calibrated. Kudos to V&H!
And, unrelated to the FP3, I finally got my headlight aimed, which made a heck of a difference. Bike's running great and the temperature has finally cooled down. Life's good!
Great to hear! Mine definitely has decel pop. I've done some pretty hefty auto-tuning sessions and the bike runs great with decent mileage so I'm happy. But if there's a way to get rid of that pop, I'll be even more happy.
How does this work? Plug in and update I assume. Where does this firecracker come in?
Thanks for posting this. I am happy with the way my bike rides after autotuning with the FP3 but still have decel pop. I was at the Vance and Hines truck Friday at the OCMD bike rally and he said that decel pop is the nature of the beast. Didn't mention the new firecracker feature in the FP3....so thanks for the heads up!
Curious how this will affect MPG, I ran a tuned map that was uploaded and tweaked by VH, bike ran great no pop at all but MPG suffered, maybe 200 miles per tank full if I rode conservatively.
I loaded a canned map and gained my mileage back with a little pop hardly noticeable and the bike runs awesome. So I am curious If this firecracker fix Is actually the tweaking VH added once you uploaded your auto tuned map to them.
Using their canned map I get around 30-40 mpg, not driving too agressive.. I have little decel pop maybe the occasional few if I get on it and roll off the throttle fast. Is there any negative aspect of having decel pop besides the noise?
2013 Heritage. Vance and Hines straight shot slip on's. Arlen Ness big sucker stage II.
FP3.
Flashed the ECM back in February of this year. Never did auto tune. So far no decel pop, none what so ever.
FP3 has been in its box since then. Ive been very happy with the results. Also nice to know I have the ability to diagnose problems I may have in the future.
