Default Changing grips, how do you remove trip button?

Seems like the only way to get the switch housing off is to remove the trip/reserve button. It pops up, but doesn't seem to want to come off. I don't want to pull on it to hard in fear ad breaking it.

Planning to put a blow gun under the grip to break up the glue so I can save it. Don't really want to cut it off.

Any suggestions?

There is a very detailed post about a bars swap that included how to remove the trip button. Will see if I can find it.

You don't need to remove the trip switch to change grips.....

I got it off, I was prying up in stead of over. Once I figured that out, it popped right off.

I would have never had room to get a blow gun in under the stock grip with the switch housing on. I probably could have done it with it on if I cut the old grip off.

Anyhow, new grips are on.

These are the drag specialties vintage grips, they are basically a knock off of the HD nostalgic grips.

They feel nice, but it's been raining, so I haven ridden with them yet.
