HI I purchased V&H dresser duals for my 14SGS and installed them last year and noticed right off the bat that I lost low end torque from my decatted head pipe, Big city thunder sells baffles that go into the head pipe and THEY say will gain back that lost torque. Has anyone installed these in the head pipe and noticed an increase in torque. These are pricey as I pay in Canadian funds and with shipping is around $160.00. Is it worth the cost only to find that I'm not getting the torque back. I'm not changing to a different system that would cost 4 times that. Thanks for any suggestions.
You can probably achieve the same result by installing a torque bolt through each muffler.
Basically, install a bolt through your end cap that extends into the muffler. This will cause the exhaust gas flow to be disrupted enough tio create the back pressure you need.
This is an old school trick. It worked for me with Reinhardt mufflers.

How exactly do you this? Would like to my 4in rineharts
Hey spider thanks for the advice although I'm not sure I want to drill a hole through my Slip-ons just in case I decide to go with another brand down the road, can that bolt go into the head pipe with the same results.

Remove one of the screws holding on the end cap. Drill a hole through the baffle. Replace the screw with a bolt long enough to go through to the other side of the baffle. Does not have to touch the other side of the baffle.
I hope I'm explaining well enough. Doing this on my
Phone.
I ran the BCT baffles on my v&h big shots staggered on my 09 dyna and when i got my 15sgs, i put them in the end of the head pipe. i went with the s&s power tune dual head pipe and CFR mufflers. I too was concerned about loss of low end torque due to the free flowing mufflers. I ordered them and installed them when i put everything on the bike. Just had to drill a small hole in the end of the head pipe to be able to screw the baffle in. Super easy and can't even tell its there. I have no comparison on this bike of with and without but i can tell you my bike doesn't seem to be missing anything on the low end. It runs awesome. On the 09 dyna, i could tell a difference by adding them to the pipes. And it also made it sound a little more badass too.
have them in my V&H Power duals with V&H Hi-outputs and love them, had them in with the CFRs and still was too loud but gave me back the low end torc lost, sold the CFRs
Hey thanks for the replys, I'm still not sure what to do yet as there are a pricey chance to take since I'm Canadian paying in US dollars it adds up really fast. I'm going to go the local Indy and see what they have to say about it. Thanks again.
