I ran across this idea of lifting your gas tank with this kit. I have never heard about anyone doing this before or have never seen this before and don't know what to think about it. Appearance, function, cool factor, etc.? Any opinions?
I like the subtle look of the tank being lifted in front but wonder if it would put undue stress on the tank with no support in the middle? I've not had the tank off so I don't know if it has support under there on the frame or not.
Had both my '07 RK and my '09 Ultra tanks both lifted. Both were like that for several years before I traded them....................never had one single negative issue. I didn't buy any kits though, just used stuff I had in the garage and duplicated the kits people had for sale. I had maybe $10 in each kit.
I lifted both front and rear of the tank................so I kept the tank angle as it was but lifted.
It was functional as it allowed more air flow over the heads and I liked the way it looked.
