So, finally, the two of us had time take a ride and to try out the adjustments on the VOX settings as suggested and yes, it did work, thank you guys. I was also talking with John @ J&M since they installed our original equipment back in the day, and he was very helpful.
I was thinking maybe our stuff was just getting old like me.
Hopefully 2016 I can upgrade our helmet speakers.

Thanks Brokefoot, I will check them out as well. Since I'm here in Apache Junction, AZ., J&M is in Tucson and only about 100 miles from me.
Cycle7447, I was going to use the set we got with the bike but I gave that to my brother since his headset was on the blink.
