Many on this forum have used and recommend Surdyke as a good place to buy Harley parts, of those that have bought from them is this normal? Ordered a simple pair of Harley handlebar grips Jan. 4th, received a message back stating that the estimated SHIPMENT DATE is Jan. 14th, 2015, Im sure they meant 2016, but thats a long time before shipping. Then they stated that I should expect to receive my order in 7 to 10 business days after that. So ordered on the 4th expect to get your order on the 28th, hummm.
Wouldve, couldve, shouldve . Evidently Surdyke doesnt "hold stock", even something as small as handlebar grips, they just turn around and order from Harley. Now I found that Harley Super Store (http://www.manchesterharley-superstore.com) does "hold stock" and it was for this particular part, in stock and ready to ship immediately and the grips actually cost less then Surdyke (- $.23 LOL).
Bottom line is looks like the Harley Super Store may be the way to go these days, less you are a very, very patient person.
I have had the same experience with both Surdyke, and Kutter now Board tracker. Every time I order 3 to 4 day to acknowledge order placed. 2 to 3 days to ship it out, and a week for delivery. I will check out the Super Store.

If you want to save 20% on HD parts then you have to do the waiting game. I have had better luck and service from Anthony at BoardTracker/Kutter.
Yes, normal practice with Surdyke - as someone else said, you have to wait a few days/weeks to get your stuff if you want to save 20% on your parts.
Think of all the parts out there needed on all of the different types of bikes & what type of inventory they would need
I just ordered a complete set of CVO gauges, took 1 week to ship out 3 of the 4, then another week to send the last one - all toll it took 3 weeks to get all my stuff

Yeah, see your point, but this was an item that hangs on the wall at every Harley dealer I've ever been too. I wouldn't expect for them to have something like a CVO TBW wire harness in stock or timing cover for a shovelhead, but a pair of streamliner grips? Serves me right for trying to save a couple of bucks, I'll know better next time.
For some reason Manchester Harley Superstore rotates what they will give you a discount on.I had previously ordered a tour pack, painted & chrome front end kit etc and got 20% off. That was about 9 months ago.I then last month tried to order a set of rear crash bars and the part number would not come up on their web site..I called and talked to a parts man and he stated they change up what they allow a discount on.Doesn't make much sense.
I have had a similar experience. Usually takes about 2 weeks to get things from them. I have noticed they will give you an expected ship date of like 2 weeks out. Then within a week or so you get an email saying it has shipped.
I call Boardtracker and see if they have what I want in stock if I need it right away or I can wait. I was going on an overnight trip to Vegas and needed my luggage rack and they had it in stock when all 6 of our local dealers here in Phoenix didn't have it. I called, ordered it, they sent it priority mail, and I had it in 2 days sent to my office without charging me the big money for the shipping. I still saved 20%. Boardtracker/Kutter is great!

I ordered a seat from Surdyke Christmas weekend and will be getting it tomorrow. It shipped out on Monday the 4th. I have ordered from them before and it's par for the course. If you aren't in a hurry like me it's no big deal but if you want it fast then look elsewhere.
