Hoping I can get some advice on a purchase. I'm looking at a new 2015 CVO RG. The sticker price is $35,000. I read some threads from earlier in the year that listed the same price just before the 2016's hit the floor.
Question is this a fair price or can I expect a little better deal if I push? I'll be trading a 09 SG.
Negotiating the price of a new bike is difficult -and even more so when looking to trade. When doing the two together - you rarely know how much you are paying for the bike - and how much you are getting for the trade.
One suggestion might be - ask how much for the bike (don't bring the trade or financing into the picture). Once you get the price(say $35,000 for example) and that is a price you like, then, ask how much for your trade. If you don't get what you (and the book) consider a fair value, you will know right away that he is trying to increase the sale price of the new bike.
Bottom line - you'll get all sorts of answers and prices here. Only you can really decidee if this is something you want. Enjoy
10K can buy a lot of upgrades on a standard RG. I saw a CVO Streetglide at the local dealer and the first thing the parts guy said to me when I was bent down looking at the screaming eagle exhaust was"I would be getting rid of those if I was buying it" . I did like the paint scheme though. Just my .02
10% off msrp max for a 15, max. If your dealer won't there are plenty who will.
I got my 2015 Road Glide Special in August last year, msrp 23,199 + freight (499) + dealer setup [horseshit] (795) + state taxes (1700) + title, licensing, etc. for 23,499 out the door.
It begs the question, if you are willing to fork out that much for a CVO, why would you care?

Thanks in advance for all responses.
That's a decent price as long as they don't try to lowball you on your trade. I love my 2015 CVO. Best bike I've ever had. You will get the "it's not worth the extra 10 grand" blah blah blah from this forum a lot. Most CVO owners will say it's well worth it. I'm one of them. My CVO is still bone stock and I don't plan any changes. Couldn't say that about my previous 5 bikes.
MSRP on a 2015 CVO Road Glide Ultra is $39,649 and invoice is $31,719. I just purchased a 2015 FLHTK Ultra Limited for $23,500 + doc fee + tax. MSRP was $26,099 and invoice was $21,599 which I came out a little better than meeting in the middle. This was partly do to the time of year and the dust collecting on a slow moving inventory. With that being said, you're more likely to find a deal on higher volume produced bikes than the limited production ones such as the CVO's. $35K isn't horrible, $34,3625 is 2/3 off the difference of MSRP and Invoice. Good Luck
