So I bit the bullet and bought the Boom Stage II kit from Harley. I did the install myself but had a question of how do I get the EQ updated without harming the speakers. There is a warning sticker on the speaker plugs that says immediate damage will occur to speakers if EQ not updated.
There is a fuse to the amp, I'm thinking if I take it out I should be OK.
I need to take it to the dealer, which means I need to operate the bike. I'm thinking I need to prevent power to the speakers, and the easiest way is to remove the amp power.
I'm guessing it's because when you add an amp, the flash cuts the output power of the radio way down since it's no longer driving the speakers. Without the flash, the amp is amplifying an already amplified signal.
I would think removing the fuse to the amp would do it. Also, at least in my '15 Limited Low there is a 20 amp fuse that when pulled disables the radio completely too.
