It would be nice if Harley included the charging pig tail on more models. Gerbing makes a pigtail that can clip right into the charging harness.
I just went through all of this on the 2015 Limited (today) and the battery is hidden under a bunch of stuff. Still working on it.....

Yes, the HO is only 4 amps more, however the big difference is the HO one puts out the amps that you need at idle. The stock one doesn't until around 2K rpm. When running a lot of accessories or heated gear, you need the amperage at idle as well, else it can't keep up at idle and may cause it to go bad sooner instead of later. Heck, I can see that when I turn my heated grips up to level 3. At idle my volts drop to just above 12.
