Just curious what those of you that have made the $250-$700 purchase (aftermarket/factory) of lowers think overall? Considering purchasing even though I live in Texas with brutal Summers.
They provide bug, wind, rain, cold weather protection, helps create a clean air, non buffeting zone combined with other parts, cools your motor, keep your jeans from riding up your leg, extra space to storage, speakers can be added for better sound.
I haven't taken mine off since I got them in 2010.

Got my set this past year.
Used my Harley Chrome points so the out of pocket cost was under $100.
Best option to install for long rides where weather can change as you crest the hills and have some potential for wet weather.
I am happy to have them and I am sure you will as well.

Ordering factory lowers for my 2016 SGS from Harley Davidson Board Tracker today. Just got back form a 900 mile trip and missed the wind protection. Noticed it was sometimes harder to keep my feet as relaxed on the floorboards. And I am blacking out my already vivid black bike so I think they look good on a Streetglide.
Been riding with lowers for years and bought a second Harley (SGS) in September. Didn't take long to decide to put them on because of everything said so far. If you have the change, do it ...................
Just did mine. Looks good. But it is super hot as there is no wind to vent the engine. The air cleaner is blocked and it seems to be sucking the hot air around it. I will remove the vent cover and replace it with a mesh screen and see whether it improves air circulation around the engine.
Got my factory ones, with quick disconnect and magnetic doors from a member here for $250. Keep them on until it gets real hot, the quick remove them and if I am riding in rain (which I hate) I can pop them back on again. They really help in rain/cold
