Well, I said to hell with it. I put the stock header back on today, reflashed with a new map & she runs great. A little quieter too....which I like. Thanks for the replies & recommendations. I can live with the cat until I buy a read header designed for different placement of the O2 senors.
I have a de- catted pipe to put on my 2014...I have a tuner and vance hines pipes and it both sounds and runs very good. I hate the extra heat from the cat and that is the only reason I wanted to change out the pipe for that reason. I have hesitated for two years because I don't want to mess the tune up and the cross talk is something I don't really understand and the back pressure question is out there also. So I'm still stock header and I am 90% happy.....maybe happy enough !
Not at all. No big deal. Only cost was my labor & a couple beers.
Well to be honest there are thousands of bikes running out there without the cat and they are running fine, this cross talk deal happens but does it really affect the engine that much, not really. My friends run J&B Performance and have tuned several of these decatted pipe's and the owners are very happy. IMO it's all in the tune when it's finally said and done.
Id love to know how one see's or knows its cross talking? Did somebody actually hear them talking? Does it show up somewhere? How does one figure out if its actually true or not? Myself I don't believe in it at all. But I'm wiling to hear educated information on it not just hear say or shall i say cross talk say but facts or evidence of it actually happening.
Batman
i caught mine shooting the breeze over a couple of beers.
They say the cat does not restrict flow. That said, what would be different about it as far as crosstalk?
I had a 2/1/2 X pipe and went back to my stock de-catted pipe and see zero difference in seat of the pants performance. Starts and runs just fine with no de-cell pop. Still accelerates like a scalded dog and no change in MPG.
I think its just something that needs NOT to be worried about.

X2....this type of input is not going to help the aftermarket sell pipes!
