I read that heated gloves are a better investment then heated grips as the grips only heat your palms. I have not experience with either as my ultra "low" did not come with heated grips.

Still think this thread is not complete without a real stripper so hear ya go.

I like the sleeker look when solo as well. That is why I bought a street glide and added tour pack and cb system. Did not care personally for the extra chrome trim and such on limiteds

The bike looks nice - I have always said, ride what you like.

About the heated grips - I have them on mine and while they initially heat the palms, with my gloves on, the heat is transferred around the entire hand.

H-D leaving off heated grips on the LOW Limited is insulting. They should have designed reduced reach levers instead of the stupid reduced diameter grips!! I don't get anything about the LOW models. Shorter suspension making bad even worse, thinner seat making bad even worse, and the insult of the "reduced reach grips" LOL, , gives you what? an extra 1/8 inch reach. Most people could buy a pair of 2" heel boots and get same thing. I'm not judging your decision, thats just my opinion. Some love the low slammed look or whatever for their own reasons. cool

Most manufacturers have adjustable levers now too. H-D did that to save money and passed it off as a benefit to guys with small hands. BS, they want another avenue to sell you more accessories as most Limited owners will eventually want heated grips.

I love my Harley but H-D has a way of insulting their customers with some of their design decisions. Example, the suspension. H-D suspension components are horrible, not because it would cost more to give us decent stuff, not because they are not capable of designing better, it is because they know a lot their customers will buy their catalogue parts because they will just roll into a dealer and write a check for a below average upgrade.

I'll be adding new components soon but not from H-D. My Ultra and every H-D I've owned wallows like a pig wagging it's azz in sweepers that aren't smooth.

rant over.....sorry, haven't had my coffee yet

BTW, since I posted pictures I took off the air wings too. Another mostly looks benefit for me. Lowers, tour pack, wings all off sure makes cleaning easier. I am an Agriculture Science Teacher, so today in my welding shop I'm fabricating a license plate bracket for under the fender location.

You might be insulted, but I am thankful. I'm only 5'7", everything they did to the bike made it go from worse to great for me and probably many like me, that's why they made the bike, for smaller rider comfort not looks. Most comfortable seat I ever had but then again I am not a fat *** and only weigh 170 lbs, handlebar set 2" back toward the rider-most comfortable handlebar position, first bike I never had to change the bars, thinner primary cover- now I don't burn my left leg on it and reach the ground better, lower suspension- like I said I'm not a fat *** so it compressed and rebounds great when adjusted correctly and I can flat foot at a light, smaller grips- I have smaller hands, extended jiffy stand tang- I can now put my kickstand down all the way. Smaller passenger boards- I can back the bike up easier,

If you don't like the low, don't buy one and don't rag on my bike, in fact sounds like you don't like HD at all and would probably be better off on a Honda.
