I decided to replace my existing hi-way pegs with the 'slipstream' footpegs.
(on short-angle hi-way mount)
I installed them, torqued to spec (per wrench), and these pegs are VERY difficult to fold up. I've got the D-shaped spring washer in place with the 'square end' against the mounting frame.
Seems way tighter than the prior pegs - not sure if they will loosen up over time ? Or maybe need to 'flip' the D-spring washer (still with straight end against mount) - the spring washer seems to have a 'bow' to it - maybe I've got it backwards ? I tried a lower torque setting - still extremely tight.
I have the same setup and experienced the same problem. I torqued mine at the minimum specs and they did become easier to fold up over time. You may have the D washer backwards - I remember switching it around. I fold mine up only when in the garage. I do this to save some of the skin on my shins. Blue Loctite!
Mine where a little snug when installed last fall, but have worn in since in. Torque numbers are for max torque so you dont stripped a thread, A little looser wont hurt in this case
