You can't ever "listen to music and talk" at the same time. It's one or the other. The device will either switch back and forth, or it won't. The phone is first priority, and the intercom is second. If you're listening to either the built in FM or another music source, and another rider starts talking to you, the device will allow you to hear what the other rider said, and then it will switch back to your media.
