Legend Axeo -1 front suspension with 21 inch wheel issues
I just had HD dealer install this on my 2016 street glide. they called me telling me they were unable to test drive it cause it looks too low and will more than likely bottom out with the lower fairing hitting the fender?
now I see on here that fellow riders/owners have this setup as well as even seen some lowered 2 inches? does anyone have this issue? I also have the Arlen ness Hotlegs not that it matters I think its still close or stock size no? had to order the special bracket from them for the fender kit for 21 inch wheel.
I called Legend they NOW tell me there is an issue with this possibly happening. they say the warn people buying this that there is a chance of this happening? WHERE? I bought it through them and they NEVER told me this? they wont even take back the kit now that its installed so im out 800 bucks as well as the 500 I was charged for this install if there is an issue.
Anyone with this setup please help me out with some feed back? maybe some photos of how low your front sits from fender. once I get bike today ill post some photos if I don't have dealer go back to stock.
one thing that might help is the aftermarket front 21 inch fender I ordered.
I have the Legend -1" kit and it actually lowered it closer to 2". From my fender to the trim under the light measures 2 3/4". I measured my buddies stock SG today and it was
4 3/4". I've heard of guys on this forum running the -2" Progressive kit & a 21" with no issues.
Check out LilWick here on the forum; he's got -2" up front with a 21" and air ride in the rear. Like said above, I think it would take a hell of a bump to bottom it out.

I would think you would be more likely to hit the engine guard first.
If you put in a -1" lowering kit and it actually lowered it -2", and if you subtract your buddies stock height from yours, - is that not the same clearance?
Maybe an extra turn of the pre-adjustment screw might keep it from bottoming out - also, make sure the fork tubes are as low as possible in the steering clamps.
Another is if you can lower the fender at all by re-drilling new holes in the fender, you don't need but around 1/2" clearance between the tire & fender - what do you have now?
I'm also running the Progressive with a 2" drop and a 21" with no problems at all. I have no idea why the picture is posting sideways but you can get an idea from it
