Default Rear Shock Leaking Oil 2016 Limited

I did a search for the topic and did read about this issue with some dating back to 2014. My gripe is that if this has been an issue for over 2 years, why hasn't HD corrected the issue? What does it take for Hd to correct a problem?
I called every dealer around Central Florida and none of them carry this part. Have to bring the bike in, they then order the part in for the repair. Multiple riding days lost, time lost, inconveniencing someone else to pick me up from and take me back to the dealer!! Supposed to be riding a new Harley not taking it in for service after a month.

You don't need to leave your bike at the dealership. They just need to see the faulty part and get your info for the warranty part and labor. Changing out a shock will most likely take less time than the paper work. I have a brand new set off my RGU if you need a loaner shock for a few days. Takes me about 15 min to do one. Let me know. FWIW the Bud is cold.

Replaced the one on my 2015 Road King in 200 miles. Replaced one on my new TriGlide at 800 miles. Seems like once again a vendor that makes parts for our bikes turned out a bad batch of stuff. Harley really has no way of knowing which ones are bad when they put the bike together. Harley does not manufacture many of the parts they put on the bikes, they buy them from other vendors.

I had a shock leak on my 2001 FLTRSEI2. It hear about it on the forums every once in a while... I haven't had a shock leak since then

When I got the one replaced on my TriGlide, they simply called me when the part came in. It took them about 30 minutes to replace it while I waited and off I went. There is no need for rides, or lost days or whatever, I figured you may have added that stuff to increase the potential pain factor.

Are we talking about an air shock or a hand adjustable premium shock?

The left rear air shock on my '14 FLHTK developed a leak. I ran it to the dealer, they took a few photos to submit to HD, I rode home, they called me the next day to inform me that HD was providing a new shock under warranty, I rode back to the dealer a few days later and they installed the shock while I waited less than an hour. Done and done.

My 16 Road King both air shocks replaced one at 5,000 and the other at 6,500 miles. My dealership ordered them and then I brought the bike in to them both times.. Let's hope that they hold up ..

Thanks for the replies. My local dealer told me the leak was too bad for me to safely drive it. They said they would order it and it would take about 3-5 days for it to come in and they recommended that I leave the bike. I was persistent in calling and finally found one in stock. I drove it there this morning and beat the rain. As many of you had said, it was quick and painless.
Glad I kept calling around to find it. It was worth the drive and I didn't get wet. Just wonder when the left one is going to give out.
