I have a 2016 RGU and it's a great bike. However, it throws a LOT of heat on my right leg. I know that a Stage One might help, but not in the budget right now. So, I know everyone here seems to like Captain Itch products, but does the crotch cooler make a noticeable difference ? And do you take the plastic heat shields off when using the crotch cooler or just put the crotch cooler over the heat shields ? I'd just like to make it a little more comfortable, I know it will always be somewhat hot.
The crotch cooler makes a huge difference for me, don't enjoy riding without one.
The instructions say to take the mid air deflectors off before you install the crotch cooler. I'm not sure if it would fit over the deflectors or not, I've never tried it.
Your first change should be a non catalytic converter head pipe, they run around $150.oo & up.
Captain Itch crotch coolers are also a good investment, plus he is a forum sponsor, and we
should support forum sponsors.

Removing the plastic ones will let our product lay down better and that is how we designed it to work.. It will definitely help you with the amount of heat that you feel . If anyone ever has a question about our products just email or give us a call. Thank you Itch .
Wards fans, goes from hot to warm on your leg and your bike will run a lot cooler. Removing my cat didn't help much, I still got blisters on my thighs in sturgis last year.
Try fuel motto's ceramic coated steel plasma header. The ceramic holds the heat in tremendously. It's also catless, and utilizes the stock heat shields. http://www.fuelmotousa.com/i-2085950...head-pipe.html
I run this on mine, and feel more heat on my left side than my right, now. Probably the best upgrade I've ever done on a motorcycle.
