It's just mind-boggling that the MoCo can't even manage to design a screw that isn't f-ed up!

OTOH, If they can't design a gas cap that doesn't bind...

Incredible!

You are correctamundo !! The Dzus fastener has been around a long time. If it's good enough to keep parts on an airplane and parts on a race car at 300 mph it's good enough for me.

Just had my bag pass me in traffic the other day. Checked on line and my bike has an open recall for the bags.....I will be going to HD today and not holding out much hope for them replacing my saddlebag. I never have had much luck with the dealer fixing anything.

The MOCO has reimbursed for bags lost prior to the recall, they sent me a check for mine. Only thing is because your's is an open recall they may try to put it on you saying you should have brought it in for the fix...good luck!

Or just go to JP Cycles and order the Reda Innovations saddlebag "locks" and they'll cost you $20! I have the Brukus locks. I like them because if someone gets into your bags it'll hopefully deter a thief.

In my opinion the only reason the Moco changed them was because it is easy not to get the half-turn on properly. If it is properly engaged I think it is near impossible for it to turn itself loose. But it easy to think you're there when you're not. The new ones take that variable out of the equation.
