I have a new '16 Ultra Classic and living in Texas, the heat coming from under the saddle in the summer time sure gets noticeable to the point almost unbearable after 150 miles of continuous riding. Am considering purchasing some adhesive Heat Resistant Tape to stick under the saddle. Anyone have any thoughts on that? Am concerned that the heat may get directed somewhere else and cause another (more serious) problem.
+1 I have one on the way. In the mean time I removed the mid frame heat shields and have found it to be cooler. I may be wrong but I feel like those mid frame deflectors were trapping the heat instead of deflecting. I would feel more heat riding interstate at constant speed with my legs stretched out on the high way pegs than sitting at a red light.
I am running a 2-1 exhaust and PV with Target tune, stage 1. No cat.
This isn't what you want to hear, but here in Panama City FL it gets fairly hot too and I got to tell ya my 2017 Limited has practically eliminated the heat issue.
Ouch! LOL Well maybe ride this a couple years and trade into "cooler" model. I might try taking these heat deflectors off and see what happens. Thanks.
I have a 16 road king which comes with out no mid frame shields.
Sitting in traffic for more than one click of the light is brutal.
I bought some deflectors helped a good bit.
I too am looking at exhaust. Other than that I love the bike.
