For those of you who build routes for the Boom Navigation system, I found a quirk/issue that I want to share. Hopefully it will save you some frustration. When you name a route prepared on the computer, DO NOT PUT AN APOSTROPHE (') IN THE ROUTE NAME. I named a route Billy Gene's and it wouldn't load and locked up the import function. At the same time it would open on the computer and could be viewed. I couldn't figure it out, took it to the dealer, they couldn't figure out and wanted me to bring the bike back for them to call Home Office to find out what was wrong.
Other routes would load but not this one. Finally it occurred to me that this was the only file with an apostrophe. When I changed the file name from Billy Gene's to Billy Genes it worked perfectly.
Seriously, HD's implementation is useful, but it certainly has it's quirks.
When naming files for multiple file systems, like phone / PC / GPS, stick to letters and numbers for better interoperability. Lots of systems barf on apostrophes.
