Ever stop and think a lot of the Bugs come from other products/software used with it.
All the bugs I listed had nothing to do with other products or software. The were just the boom/navigation system.
Took three years until they figured out East TN was Eastern Time Zone, they had it set as central. NB was set as pacific time, and there were five or six other time zone mistakes I found while riding.
Took two and half years to get the Automatic Volume control to work right.
Took two years to get turn arrows and spoken directions to match.
Took two years before next turn displayed the right information.
Took two years to get the volume fluctuation out of the system.
There are several other issues I do not remember.
There are also many issues with compatibility with phones and such, but I did not mention them.
I can tell you for a fact that I do have one on my '15 Limited, and I agree - it's an over-priced, glitch-ridden POS!
Epic miss for the MOCO, in my opinion. Pretty much par for the course for them, though, at least where anything electronic is concerned.
It doesn't affect me personally that much, since it only functions as a grossly-over-priced clock on my bike. Good luck and best wishes to those hardy souls who actually depend on it to reliably do anything more than that.

And, IMHO, if Harley doesn't start looking at the bigger picture, the risk that they run is developing an unwarranted mentality among all customers and potential customers that their product is a "POS". Naturally, this vision is generally incorrect because, like them or hate them, they make a great bike. The problem is, some people will hear the complaints yet separate the quality and performance of the bike from the "electronics" - others will not. In addition, anyone who doesn't know any better (i.e., they do NOT own a Harley), yet have heard "yada, yada, yada - POS" will surmise the whole bike is inferior - not some peripheral component.
And in MY opinion, the entire system is far from a "POS".
I "depend" on it to "reliably" entertain me on long trips. To add enjoyment to a long ride, and to help me get from point A to point B. It does both of those things quite well; better, in fact, than the similar system in my old Cadillac does, and a helluva lot better than most motorcycle company's.
It has glitches. Oh well. I can live happily with them. And if I couldn't, I would remove it from my dash and sell it, buy an aftermarket radio, and pocket the substantial change.

Agree 100%.
If they would just offer the Limiteds with that system as an option, then only those who want it, warts and all, would be able to make that choice.
I finally was able to load it up on the infotainment after trying and trying several time with no luck since January. I went ahead on the Harley website once again today and down loaded the three files one at a time separately and that seem to work. As soon as I plug the thumb drive in it started working and hopefully it won't cause me any problems later.
JMO...is it the best, no, is it the worst, no, on a scale of 1-10 I'd give it a 6-7. Once you learn some of it's quirks and work around them it's a pretty good system, NOT perfect but pretty good. The updates have fixed some of the most glaring problems, it finds POI's and gets you from A to B fairly well. I've used Route Planner many times and after a long learning curve it works pretty good, has taken me around Maine, Upstate NY and down South into Virginia/West Virginia with very few problems. I have a GMC Acadia with the Intellilink system, GREAT, almost perfect and I have a Corvette with their system, HORRIBLE, wrong roads, gets you lost, very difficult to work with, unacceptable on a high end GM vehicle. The HD system falls somewhere in the middle IMO, hopefully they'll continue to improve it with more updates...and if all else fails, I always have my phone to get me around!

My HD NAV system is 100 times better than the NAV in my 14 Stingray. Wife's range rover NAV gets the roads right and its a 2012.
Dang Stingray list the State Route number, not the US hwy number for most HWYS, and of course all the roads use the US number. US 27 for example runs from FL to MI, and is labeled as such the whole trip. The Stingray never once calls it US 27. Makes me love the HD system. Its also why I'm looking to by an Ford F-150 Limited rather than a 1500 Denali.
Got a long ride in yesterday and have .3 installed on Boom...Unfortunatly the hard FAV button on the lower left is still JACKED...after a factory reset upon installing .3, it worked for a while but went back to it's old habit...nothing, nada, it just doesn't work.
Been that way since new, late 2013. Guess that item/function isn't on the bugfix list.
Oh well...just a small gripe.
The rest of the bike is frigg'n amazing...as we all know. I rolled the interstate for about 100 miles with a legal speed of 80mph, traffic was rolling over 90 for the most part and I found myself pushing 110 more than once...and this is at nearly 6000' elevation. SMOOTH as silk!!
What the heck more can you ask from a tourer?? (how about a flawless InfoBoomBox!!!) LOL....
