I love my bike, but to put such a fickle ,cheap system on such a great bike, is plain bad. I don't need it ,but paid for it, it should work better, jmo
And in MY opinion, the entire system is far from a "POS".
I "depend" on it to "reliably" entertain me on long trips. To add enjoyment to a long ride, and to help me get from point A to point B. It does both of those things quite well; better, in fact, than the similar system in my old Cadillac does, and a helluva lot better than most motorcycle company's.
It has glitches. Oh well. I can live happily with them. And if I couldn't, I would remove it from my dash and sell it, buy an aftermarket radio, and pocket the substantial change.
Outstanding! I'm pleased when anyone still likes the system, yet recognizes it has glitches. This also reminds me that many people are also far more patient and tolerant than I am.
i don't get it ! i rode again today with no problems what so ever with the . 3 update. i am completely happy with it. what i am missing ? seems everything works great with my system. granted, i'm sure there is better systems out there, but the boom does what's suppose to. can't make everyone happy i guess.
Hardheaded, I have the same experience - never a problem and does everything it's supposed to. Dunno why some people say they have these problems. C'est la vie.

Same here, downloads have always gone smooth and the updates for the most part do what they're supposed to do. I had a problem with one, can't remember which one, I just stepped back to a previous version until they released a new update. I'm glad to see new updates, it means their working on the system to improve it!
No real problems with mine on the 2017 or the 2016. The GPS maps left a little to be desired once in a great while , but so did my Ford. The maps in the 2017 were more up to date. I really don't need the GPS just comes in handy sometimes. Hoping for a 100% Wire free system someday.
i do think HD should give you free map updates for five years or so. after all you paid alot of dough for this thing. or at least make them affordable. does anyone really buy these anyway ?

Yes It's a mystery to me, my 14 limited took me to Sturgis from PA w/o any glitches flawless, traded for a 16 at Sturgis and that one got me home, again flawless. I am a big fan of this system.
