Dang Stingray list the State Route number, not the US hwy number for most HWYS, and of course all the roads use the US number. US 27 for example runs from FL to MI, and is labeled as such the whole trip. The Stingray never once calls it US 27. Makes me love the HD system. Its also why I'm looking to by an Ford F-150 Limited rather than a 1500 Denali.
Damn, sorry to hear that, I have an older C6 and the horrible GPS followed the C6 model right up to the end in 2013. I was kinda hoping with all that new technology the C7 GPS would be a major improvement, I guess not. I love my C6 and not looking to get rid of it anytime soon, my next step is to probably replace the head unit with with a Kenwood or Pioneer, something with Garmin GPS, bluetooth, an auxiliary port and maybe a back up camera. And don't give up on the Denali, as I said the Intellilink system in my '14 Acadia Denali is great, check it out first before you write it off, a real good system...

Most 70K plus cars do not come with Fee Map updates. I know my 14 Stingray they want about 150 for the update. My wife's Range Rover wants 160 for a map update, at least its a better GPS than my Stingray. My 15 CVO and now My 17 CVO both came with two free map updates in five years. My CVO's were far less than the Stingray and Range Rover.

I love my 14 Stingray even though I only have 12580 miles on it in just over 3 years. 17 Street glide has 10,300 on it, and the 15 CVO Road glide I traded for it had 44K on it. The maps are right in the GPS, they just use State HWY numbers vice the US hwy number. US 27 is a good example, from FL to MI it never calls it US 27, it gives it the state number.

In two weeks I will be taking a couple test drives, F-150 Platinum and the 1500 Denali Ultimate. I will pay close attention to the GPS...

I've got a couple of VW's, Passat, GTI and a Turbo Beetle.

A sales person i bought the GTI from, has given me 3 updates, so my VW's are up to date. Check with your sales person, seems they get one or two copies to insure they keep certain vehicles up to date.

I've gotten the updates, but I don't go anywhere, so i can't tell how much different they are, they look the same, didn't notice any added features, so for me, like the HD, not really an issue or worth the update price. I think i have one HD update left, i'll don that one and then that will be my last update.

At one time, i also have a 2004 Avalanche, that i drive the most, XM would give you a life time (non transferable) subscription for 350 dollars. I think that they feel most will sell their vehicle in 3 to 5 years, so that won't lose. I almost did it, glad a i didn't because, while they have a good selection of music, they changed/eliminated one of my primary stations. So i keep doing the 25 dollars for 6 months, i would have saved with 350 deal. ( i stopped the subscription for two years when they eliminated my Acid Jazz station.

If they offered a reasonably priced life time subscription for the Nav updates, ike 150.00, they'd probably sell quite a few subscriptions.

My 1.20.3 malfunctioned today.Display would not turn on no matter how many times I held power button.Just showed clock.I shut off and restarted and the display was gone.I drove anyway and tried the temperature display button and it came on showing proper display.Managed to get it to display music, but no sound.
Shut it off for 10 minutes and restarted.Worked fine.Went back to 1.20.1 when I got home.

Installed 1.20.3 and have 0 issues so far. I do have a question regarding the new feature which allows searching artist/tracks via Bluetooth. When I search "genres" and select "rock" it displays "recently added" and then each individual artist in that genre. Once an artist is selected it individualizes each album. How do I shuffle through all artists in that genre via Bluetooth? I can do it using the phone, but it appears as though I have to select a specific artist within that genre and then a specific album. Have I missed something?

When Updating the system you should always do a factory reset, it helps definitely. Just like a computer there is files left over which may confuse the system and a reset will purge these files. Especially if you have an aftermarket stereo. Here is instructions on how to do it I copied from Ghostrider1967, works perfect. This may solve the problems some of you are having.

1. Turn IGN OFF. Wait 15 seconds.
2. Press and hold power/mute button. Turn IGN? to ACC.
3. Continue to press power button for 2 seconds after the WARNING screen is displayed.
4. Release power/mute button and accept warning.
The service menu may display Diag Service not Availiable when a menu option is initially selected. This message will clear once the system has finished performing the power-on process. Options are: DTCs, Audio, Display, Key input, Component menus, Version info, Reset, Touchscreen.
Reset: Pre-calibration reset: Restores fatory default settings. This is recommended when there are radio symptoms and no DTCs*
Post calibration save: Archives customers settings so that they can be restored after a Post calibration Reset.
Post calibration reset: Resets the radio to factory default settings and restores the last archive data stored during Post calibration Save.

When you do the reset, does it delete any favorites, any saved routes, radio station presets etc kinds of stuff? Just wondering.

There's an option given when you do the reset to save that info.

There's an option given when you do the reset to save that info. Although, I've never done a reset before any of the updates and never had a problem. It's not required.
