Default 30K Primary service on 15 RG

I just had my primary serviced by my independent wrench. (no I do not let dealers touch my scoot unless it's a warranty issue). The compensator was in like new condition and the chain was in perfect adjustment. Very little wear on tensioner. This was great news to me after reading the horror stories on this forum. Why am I, you might ask so lucky with my stock setup? My guess is maintenance. I have changed the primary oil with Formula + every time I change oil (3500 miles) and check tension very 15K. Just wanted to share..

What are you using in your tranny if you don't mind me asking?

Hey Tramp, I read somewhere, that the automatic Primary Chain Tensioner, was ratcheting up, to often, tightening the chain, hence pulling on the compensator & tranny sprockets, wrecking the seals? Good Luck, BJ

It's on this forum that I read the same thing, that's why I posted this. I use Formula + in the tranny also. I change it every other oil change (7K) I used this same maintenance schedule on my 01 Wide Glide and have almost 100K on that bike with no major repairs. Mobile 0ne 20/50 goes in the motor.

Put 75,000 on my 07 you know the ones that had the BAD compensator. Never touched it. Last I saw the bike it had 85K on and still going. I never let an indy touch my bike.

Thanks for sharing!

I use the same in both my bikes primary's, hoping to have the same results as you. Also changing all 3 holes at 3500 mile intervals.
