I have a 2014 touring service manual. I now also have a 16 FLHX. Does anyone know if there are enough differences between the 14 and 16 service manuals to justify buying the 16 one? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
Off the top of my head....
The biggest difference is the primary drive. In 2015 they introduced the "narrow primary" in the "low" models, and in 2016 the narrow primary was spread throughout the touring lineup.
It's possible in 2014 they still had the amber rear turn-signals. I'm not sure when those fell off the ***-end for the tourpak only signals.
Otherwise the typical differences "low" models (bar dimensions, lower suspension, narrow diameter grip, extended jiffystand, shorter windshield, smaller rear boards) would be different and of course the whole fairing assembly of the road Road Glides.
I picked up a 14 manual from the dealer cheap. For 14 to 16 their the same bike. I have a 16. One of the techs who is the best in Southern ON. Said their good back to 12s for some stuff and 17s. If you know what your doing. Most specs are the same.
I bought a used 14 touring manual here from another member and it will be usable on my 2016 SGS I don't think it changed enough to give me any problems
