No they didn't.....and when I drilled my cat it it didn't smell any different than before...but the exhaust heat sure got less
side note...............did you drill holes through the cat... to increase the flow or did you drill the holes to then be able to remove all of the cat material? thx \
ive a 2017 107 and am considering all of my options first

Removing the cat will very often result in a lot of smelly fumes but not as the OP describes. It's less noticeable on my Ltd than it was on my 911 (that stunk so bad I put the cat back on) but if I'm in an enclosed space like my garage I'll smell it.
btw...the exhaust heat was still strong (but a little less then with the cat) after the decat on my bike. I swapped the OEM decat header for an aftermarket header and it is still pretty hot...but damn it sounds good!
hamah, did you install a tuner along with your header? I also installed a header (fuel moto jackpot), Screaming Eagle cold air intake, and Jackpot muffler (full stage one) and Power vision tuner, the decrease in felt heat was substantial. Also my bike runs perfect with a noticeable increase in seat of the pants power. It has been said before, a tuner on even a stock bike will make it run better.
