Whats the difference between the 944s and the 444s?
Thanks
The 944's ride 1" lower. The 13" 944 will ride at the same height as a 12" factory shock but still have the full 3" travel of the stock 13". The 944 12" has the ride height of an 11" but still has 2" of travel.
The 444's lengths compare to the stock factory shocks.
For those that went with Progressive did you go with Standard, Heavy Duty or Super Duty? Going to go with the 444s, but I'm 250 and typically ride one up with gear that gets me to around 300 or so. The wife rides at times with the two of us getting close to 400. But that is very rare when she rides, but she complains about the bad suspension with the air shocks, so changing will probably have her riding more. I'm thinking Super Duty, but concerned this will be very stiff when just riding myself. Thoughts?
At 250# weight the Heavy Duty springs will be too light, I went with the Super Duty's. I'm at 230# and to get the correct sag with the HD springs riding solo they had to be preloaded until the lighter portion of the progressive spring was nearly coil bound. For my weight solo the SD springs are firm, not overly harsh but definitely firm, 2 up they are excellent.
try to decide the best option for my street glide 2014. i ride solo all the time
Call manufacturers and dealers and speak with them. Way your options and you can feel confident about your decision.
I would suggest making one of those calls to George or DJ at Pro-Action. There is a guy on the forum that sells Ohlins that has a good reputation also.
