considering doing a stage one upgrade this winter, anybody have any experience with the upgrade kits from dk customs? they seem to be a cost effective way to get this done. or i could just get the fp3, if its true what ive read that the stock air cleaner will provide more than enough air for stage 1. the breather is getting re-vented to atmosphere tomorrow.

What bike do you have? Just checked their site, looks ok. It is cheap, however, the components they are offering are very basic. For a quality stage one you'll be in the range of $1200-$1700. Me personally, I prefer full exhaust replacement, TTS Mastertune, and hi-flow a/c, but I'll assume you have a 103" and that should be fine for air flow. My 2 cents. Ride safe!

Myself and several friends have purchased DK high flow air filter and exhaust gas recirc kits. They are very well made. Actually, only a few things DK sells are designed and made by them, many are other manufacturers products DK has tested and supports. My bottom line is the excellent support and service provided by DK. When I have questions they get answered. I like the fact that they have so thoroughly tested stuff and really know how to provide me advice and products that work for what I want.
According to the folks at Vance and Hines the fp3 can auto tune my bike reducing the perceived heat and making it run better using the stock air cleaner and exhaust. I'm happy with the way the bike looks and sounds so if I can tune it without spending additional money on components that aren't absolutely needed then I think that's what I will do.

B F Kenny, The Stage-I low cost way for a Rushmore is to put a K&N air cleaner into your
stock AC housing, vent it to the atmosphere, and add the slipons of your choice. You may
also want to add FL-ViED-10 into the mix to add more fuel, all can be done at DK Customs.
