I know HD is doing this on non-special M8 models and it is a factory order option. What I don't know is if this is plug and play or does it need more items than just the Nav headunit/programming/GPS antenna. I've personally seen a 2016 non-special with dealer installed NAV but I do not know the details on it.
Anyone have any experience with this?
not interested in aftermarket. I've been in these taken apart the Nav unit s and done updates. I just have not had my hands on a standard 14-up rushmore to check the harness compatibility.

I upgraded my 17 to the 6.5 from the 4.3. If I remember correctly the GPS antenna is included in the kit. The dealer needs to flash the BCM to tell it what head unit you have and that's it. You can put it in yourself the instructions are on the HD site.
If you are outside the window of the dealer install option pricing go to board tracker or one of the other online retailers and check the pricing. 20% is worth it on this. Install it yourself and see what the dealer would charge for the flash.
Cool, was just curious if they hard parts actually plugged up between the 4.3 and 6.5. Wiring harness replacement is no joke on these. Flashing is no problem. Install is no problem.
It's not a BCM flash, it's the radio setup flash for new head units. The kit comes with the antenna, I sourced one from a coworker, installed it and flashed it at work off the clock. It's worked flawless since.

Good to clear that up so i don't repeat incorrect info. The counter guy mentioned the bcm on checkout. I just knew it needed a flash.
Actually the radio will work but it will intermittently beep at you even with the radio off until you get flashed from dealer. And dealer will have to load first set of maps.
