Default Quick question about HD ride planner

What is the maximum number of waypoints that can be used on one trip. It's been a while since I used it. I have a bad case of old-timers.

I think the documented limit was increased from 9 to 99 several BOOM releases ago.

But personally, I cant get routes to load into BOOM if the number of waypoints exceeds approx 50.

I use Tyre to create my routes/GPX files - maybe they are more 'verbose' than routes created by other applications.

YMMV

Thanks dh, I knew they had increased to number but I couldn't remember how many.

50 waypoints in one route?

What are you planning? A 4 month trip? LOL!! As you can guess, I don't use the HD planner

If you want to trace something like the 'original' Route 66 or Lincoln Highway or other such historic route, it takes a lot of waypoints to force the exact turns necessary.

For those types of routes, it takes over 100 waypoints per STATE. Easily.

OK, I gotcha now. THX for the explanation. Man, that makes planning a trip very time-consuming. I marvel at your patience!

I'm not trying to be a jerk, honestly, but... wouldn't it just be easier to follow the road signs if your route is just on one roadway? I can follow long sections of Route 66 thru Missouri without a GPS...
