I've been up and down the street on this.
I've tried the battery operated gloves. Three different brands and all three are BS. They warm up a little bit when I don't have my hand in them but cool off when I put them on.??????
The heat by wire gloves. Really good when temps are in the 50s, but below that, the heat drops off pretty quick. 40 degree weather, I might as well not be wearing gloves at all. I currently have a set of Gerbing gloves that plug into a controller with the dial on it.
The heated hand grips are out of the question. Just not going to screw around with the aftermarkets that last a few weeks. Been down that road too.
I would like to find a good set of wired gloves that actually provide warmth down into the 20 degree range.
I use the Hotwired Cycle gear gloves and jacket liner. The gloves have 3 temp settings. on high my hand feel like there melting !! I have had them for 3 years and very happy. Cycle Gear had a promo of free controller with liner purchase.
Used Gerbing 12 volt heated gloves on an Iron Butt 1000 with temps down to 28 degrees and 80 miles an hour never a problem with cold hands. Feet were an another issue.
I have only used Mobile Warming Leather gauntlet gloves. Lithium batttety operated. Several of my friends have also taken heed to my advice and bought a pair. Zero complaints from any of us. Them gloves are super toasty even with the heat off! Typical wear then in 30-40 degree temps and usually for a couple hours. Batteries still had plenty of juice
I have two sets of Gerbing heated gloves that plug in. I have rode in the high teens with them. The G3 version are a bit warmer than the older Nubucks.
They work better if your fairing blocks the wind from your hands. I run apes so fairing does not block wind. I usually use heated grips in conjunction with the gloves, or like on my 18 some wind deflectors for the bars, keep the air off your hands. http://jdcustomsandfabrications.bigc...ut-hand-guards

Gerbing battery heated gloves here. Medium heat setting is fine, last about 4 hours as I recall.
Love 'em.

I got the Gerbing Vanguard 12v wired gloves this fall and used them for the first time off/on during a ride in high winds and temps down in the upper 30's. I never turned the dial past 3/4 and was perfectly comfortable. And they are very plush and comfy too.
