Hello, I have a 14 Street Glide Im working on. The ignition does not turn off the power. It will turn the engine off but radio and gauges stay on. If it does turn off the power you can shake and push on the ignition switch and the bike will power up.
I have checked all connections and all is good. Im thinking the ignition is the issue. Just curious what you guys think? Thanks
I just got the bike. Someone else put some apes on it so Im trying to track down the problem. It seems to be the ignition since you can wiggle it and the bike will power up.
The ignition needs to come out to replace bars. common problem when replaced it does not line up properly when put together. while I know and have done this it is not easy to describe. search for ignition removal and replacement tool.

Im just guessing something was damage when it was reinstalled. 1 out of 10 times turning the switch off it will power the bike off and if you wiggle it the bike will power off.
Does the fork lock work? If it doesn't that would support the idea the the ignition "handle" was not reinstalled properly. There are two separate sections inside the ignition and its possible to have them 180 out and still get the handle back in.

yes the fork lock works. Each position you turn the ignition works as it should except the off position. Im going to order a new ignition and hopefully that is the issue.
