I have a 2014 (purchased Sept 2013). Battery worked well but was getting a little slow when I cranked it is May 2018. So, in my opinion, the factory battery held up well for over 4 years. That is exactly what I purchased.

It seems like every other week there is the same thread asking the same question, “What battery is best?, What battery should I buy” might be a good idea to search out these threads, there is sure enough of them.

Best battery, I use Yuasa but pretty much any battery with over 500 COLD cranking amps/
CCA (cold cranking amps) is the true measurement of a battery.
Some people are fooled when CA - Cranking Amps are listed/ mentioned. Cranking Amps is not the same thing as cold cranking amps and do not buy any battery listed as just Cranking Amps.
It really depends on the conditions ridden in. If riding really early or late in the seasons when the temperatures are in the 30s and 40s this may not be a great option. I've read others having issues starting lithium batteries in colder temps. There are many options to choose from though.
I usually buy a Big crank every 3 or 4 years... i usually do it when the cranking gets a bit sluggish...Bike starts a lot easier since I got my ACR connected and activated.
