My helmet is Silver with a fad to black, from a distance it definitely looks more silver. My reason for picking it was strictly because it was the model that had the fit and features I wanted and that was my color choice of that model. My wife on the other hand went from black to white helmets a couple years ago to be honest the visibility was not the leading factor, she felt it would not be as hot as a black or darker color helmet in the MS summer heat. I have no idea if in reality that really holds true but she believes it does so that was enough for me LOL
Yep your wife is right! Lived in Mississippi for 20+ years and the white helmet definitely reflects some heat, that being said I have over a dozen helmets and only two white ones LOL but I do have a silver one too
Among my helmets, I have had a white Scorpion EXO. Great helmet and I do believe that the white is cooler in the hot summer sun. Of course I have other helmets that are Black that get their share of time with my bean in them.

Don't want to highjack this thread, but does anyone know where to buy a white 1/2 beanie novelty helmet with the one strap from side to side ? Use to buy that at the swap meets but i haven't seen any lately.
I've ONLY worn WHITE 1/2 helmets (Shoei St Cruze & Bell Pit Boss). I wear white because I believe its more visible than black. I know HD riders are into the all black "look" but not me. I also wear either a neon yellow or neon orange shirt or jacket when I ride. I'm a firm believer that the more visible you can make yourself the better off you are. Same for the front and rear lights...I always ride with my passing lights ON and I've replaced the stock brake light with HD's a LED brake light (it should have been standard from the factory........"visibility is your friend".
WHITE all the way for both me and the wife for two years now. We usually wear our Bell Pitbull but I also added a Shoei J-Cruise also in white a few months ago.
YES they work for visibility. I notice people noticing the helmet. Some probably do think of the police when they see it. I passed a bike riding home the other night and thought I knew who it was. The next day he called me and asked if we were riding last night. I said yes and his reply was I knew it was you by the helmets. His lights shined off them and he said they really stood out.
Anyone wearing a White Helmet?? It has been suggested (more viability?) I have had wearing black helmets since I was a kid (long *** time ago, lol) I 'think' I would feel like a cop???
So - who has gone 'White' and if so, Why
I did start a post about heat Black vs White... This post is Only to see just how many riders have switched to White??
Tks...
My wife and I both wear white. No idea if it makes a difference but we were both in black helmets when we got rear ended a few years back.
I hope I get taken for a cop... maybe the dorks in the cages will keep their distance
Some of you are saying that you wear a white helmet for visibility, If your wearing a white helmet, then why not have a white bike?
Well... just so I could be right on this subject. I went out to Harley yesterday and bought this bike.... Actually buying this bike had everything to do with loving the color. Always like that combination it's a classic IMHO.... As for the subject I have lived in multiple states and the question about why you wear a helmet in general is one of the questions on the written test for motorcycles. The answer is visibility! Now saying that, does not mean I agree I think safety would be the first reason for someone wearing a helmet. However that's a personal choice depending on your state, after riding 45+ years I do believe that a white helmet is more visible no doubt about that. That doesn't mean all the helmets I own which are over a dozen are white, actually there's only a couple that are. As for heat.. very simple test take a dark helmet and a white helmet set it on your seat in 100° temperatures or higher and go back in an hour you will see the white reflects the sun. No need for everyone getting upset about that that's why leathers works so well in the winter because it's a dark color and it absorbs the heat it will warm you up that's also why I don't wear my leathers when it gets into the 90s and above which is often here in Alabama. Anyway it's an interesting thread and please don't take offense Buddy I was just kidding I love the color of my bike but hey it doesn't matter what color you love as long as you ride it.
