Default Spitting oil

Just changed my oil, used Mobile 1 VTwin and a fram motorcycle filter. I thought the oil was coming from the filter, so I put another new H-D one on, but I’m still leaking. Looks like maybe it’s coming from the oil pressure switch/ sensor. The thing is, Its not screwed in the whole way. But the one on my friends bike is the same way, so not sure if I should tighten it or just replace it. My oil pressure is reading high, 49-52 psi at highway speed, 30 at idle. Typically I run 15 at idle and 30-33 at speed.

Given I’m getting high readings, and this is most likely the source of my leak, I’m thinking this is probably it. But I keep thinking the leak just started since the oil change, and just wonder if the Mobil 1 is the reason. Could just be a coincidence, but why would it happen after an oil change.

Do these typicall go bad? What causes it to go bad?

I put Mobil 1 Vtwin oil in my stock 2014 Ultra Limited for the 1st time last winter. Its a stock engine. My pressure really didn't change with the Mobil 1, maybe 1 psi less. Just an idea - you didn't recently service your air cleaner did you?. I cleaned my stock air cleaner assembly one time and accidently pinched/bent over the little breather hose that enters the housing from the backside. My oil pressure was suddenly running 15 psi higher than normal. Retracing my steps I found the pinched breather hose. Your oil pressure seems to be in the same range to be the same problem.

Ditch the fram filter for sure. Won't fix the leak but will probably help the pressure go back to normal

Thanks

Change the switch, and how much oil did you put in?

AUSSIEDOG!!!

YOU THE MAN!!!

just pulled the air box while it was running, and as soon as I pulled the filter, the psi went back down to normal. That tube must have been pinched inside the filter.

THANKS!!!!

Had some drips on the floor after sitting last night, but that may have been residual. I personally think it was the Fram filter and not the switch. I cleaned everything up, and need to get it out on the road, Time will tell,

But no oil at idle in the garage.

Probably residual oil seeping from crevices. Wipe and check your plug. I have screwed up o rings putting the plug back in and had a little weep.
