My CB has become very noisy. Today, I had to bump up my squelch to three bars above mid point to get it to quit. At that level, I cant hear anyone trying to talk to me. I noticed when I was getting static, the radio was showing the CB in use as if someone was transmitting. My wife said she was not getting any transmissions when mine was showing them. Seems to gotten worst over the last two days to where I cant use the CB at all. Any ideas??
Check your antenna that the CB antenna (marked CB at bottom) is on the right side of trunk.
Open trunk, behind seat down by seat screw area you will see the antenna coax cable connection, put some dielectric grease of antenna connection. May need cleaning there.
I have had both of these problems on bikes. Dealer put antenna on wrong side and had water get into connection over time.

Before you start tearing into things, give things a while. I say this because when riding this week, I've been noticing "band openings". What that means is that the band noise level is higher because of skip. Skip is when a signal well beyond the horizon can be heard even over local signals. Ask any HAM radio operator & they should be able to provide more insight.
