- Ride Planner (RP) adds new "routing points" as destinations, right click & change to waypoints
- Routes are saved as "?.GPX" files
- RP routes have start & end destinations
- RP GPX files can & will contain multiple routes if the planned route contains multiple destinations
- RP GPX file names are not necessarily the same as the ROUTES contained within that GPX file
- GPX files are HTML code format; if you know HTML, any text editor can be used to modify the HTML code
- USB stick is required to import routes into 6.5GT
- format your USB stick as FAT32
- GPX files must be in the USB drive root directory
- when importing a GPX file that contains multiple ROUTES the 6.5GT provides the option to import "ALL" or just specific ROUTES which will be listed by name below the ALL option
- ROUTE specific names, as displayed in the import menu, will be available to choose under the "where to, routes" menu but the GPX file name will not
- while up to 99 waypoints can be used within a route, better performance is seen by limiting to <55 points
- for best results getting the planned route to match the actual 6.5GT directions, plan your route as shortest & then set 6.5GT preferences to shortest as well
- while running a route, you can stop & shut off the bike; when you restart, wait until the Nav becomes ready before proceeding (not waiting for Nav to be ready will confuse the gps & cause incorrect directions)

When you build your route in myrouteapp if you place a
waypoint just after each turn the infotainment system WILL follow your route.
be sure to use the boombox save option for your year copy to usb stick then
take it to the bike select import to bike.

We all believe that the app we use is better than all the rest.
I use Harley and Honda Route Planner - neither f these cost me any additional money.
The problem I sometimes run into is - I plan the app on my PC and import it to my bike, no problem. Sometimes, when I star the route, it does not appear that my home address is showing as the starting point - nd the system keeps trying to take me back home first - to start the trip.

Even if you have the same criteria (shortest, ect.) in ride planner and Boom 6.5, it will still re-route you on occasion. Use waypoints to keep you on the route that you want to take.

The 6.5 didn’t make it today, but I did get a notification from FedEx that it will be here tomorrow, but has a signature required. Hoping I’m home in time. But Fed Ex usually shows up at my house between 3-5 regardless of wether it supposed to be a morning delivery.
Hope to get it tomorrow, and start playing.
While I’m Waiting, I’ll ask, On a road glide does the front outer fairing need to come off, or can I access what I need with the top of the fairing off. I Know, not a big deal to remove, but just curious.
