Default Boom display went dark

Went on the local "Pink My Ride" today and hit a nasty tooth jarring hole in the road. My infotainment display went dark. The boom box radio was still playing and I have voice controls but nothing on the display. I noticed later that the outer perimeter was lit up but no graphics or text on the screen. I'm assuming something was jarred loose when I hit the hole but I don't really know how to get to the back of the display. Anyone out there know what it looks like in there. I have the outer fairing off but I can only see the back of the radio. Any guidance would be appreciated. This is on a 2015 Ultra Limited with a little over 18000 miles.
Thanks.

If you've checked all the connections it doesn't sound good. Extended warranty?

Good excuse to go aftermarket or used ones are going for about $650 or so now. Check the audio classifieds.

Thanks for your thoughts. Looks like all connections are on the back side of the radio with most of them being antenna cables and one large block that looks like power and speaker connections. I reseated the large block with no success. So by "doesn't sound good" you mean something inside the box failed? And of course I don't have the extended warranty. Anyone open one of these up? I'm still inclined to believe something came loose but was hoping it was external to the radio chassis.

Try pressing the power button on the unit, keep pressing it while you turn the Ignition on and see if it will go into diagnostic mode, also try using a memory stick with a update on it, turn key on see what happens.if not then I do not know what to tell you.

Possibly try disconnecting the battery for a little while and restarting. Ive had to do that if i forget to hook up the trickle charger for a couple months.

If this hadn't happened right after the monster pothole incident, I'd be inclined to believe the software reset would work. I will try this though because my intuition isn't very good sometimes. Does anyone know what the interface from radio chassis to display looks like? I'm still thinking something moved when I hit the pothole. I can't believe I didn't blow a tire.

Probably a TUBE lose. Maybe try running back over the same MONSTER pothole to see if it jars it back on? LOL

Hey I am just joking. I would probably do the hard reset and see what happens. Hopefully it is an easy fix. Good luck

Do I have to hit it going the opposite direction? Have to admit, you made me laugh. I'm going to give the reset a try and if that doesn't work I'm going to pull the unit out and see what I can find. I found something showing the back side of the head unit/display with a built in connector. Stay tuned.

Good luck.

Why not try the software load - couldn't hurt.

If something happens to mine, I will definitely move over to the Sony unit

Just a quick status update, but not resolved. I removed the radio from the bike last night, removed the head unit and inspected the connector and stuff. Nothing obvious damaged, out of place or even dusty. To be honest I didn't expect to see anything wrong since it was a shock event that resulted in this problem. I put the head unit back on the radio and will reinstall in the bike Friday. Stay tuned. BTW I think I saw somewhere on this forum a place that refurbished head units and beefs up this interface. Anyone know who that is?
