I talked to ohlins USA and they recommend the FKS226 cartridge for my streetglide. I asked them about the 30 mm cartridge offered by motorcycle metal and also the one offered by big bear performance. Ohlins wouldn’t really comment on it since they don’t offer the 30 mm cartridge for my bike. Just looking for input for the best ( plush) ride I can get.
Not an expert but I have Ohlins 25mm cartridges on my 15 Limited. From all my experiences with aftermarket suspension I would not use Plush to describe any of them. The improvement in ride comes from not bottoming.
Just my experience, Rod

I believe the word you are looking for is compliant.
I'd have to believe stock is about as "plush" as you're going to get, any upgrades will "firm" the front end up and make it more "compliant" or "capable" as mentioned...making the bike handle as it should and keep the tire in better contact with the road. Your ride comes more from the rear...
I guess the word "plush" isn't the correct word. I am looking for a front end that keeps the wheel on the ground over sharp edge bumps like expansion joints. The front on my bike kind of skips across these and just has a very unsettled feel. I also do want it to provide a ride that is smooth not jarring. I currently have a set of Pro-action piggy back shocks in the rear. It has taken me a while to find the "sweet spot" with these but I think I finely found it. This past week the small adjustments I made to preload and slow speed compression has provided me a ride that is smooth with no jar feeling. I am now VERY happy with the ride from the rear of my bike and just want to find a great front suspension to go with it.
After talking to Howard at Motorcycle Metal I narrowed my search to Ohlins 25mm and Ohlins 30mm both provided by Howard. I would like to get a report from someone that has his 25mm ohlins so I can compare to the 30mm reports that I have read. Both cartridges' sound awesome and Howard really seems to have a genuine interest in helping me achieve the ride I am after. I just have to decide which cartridge is "right" for me.
