availability of black plastic stud plate oversized washers? (single seat conversion)
just scored an X CVO diamond stitch seat, with detachable passenger pad off eVilbay for my Street Glide Special
most of the time I'll ride with just the single on and so want to blackout the screws and mounting hardware (there is a leather flap that covers it, but want to do it proper in case you see it)
I've managed to source the knurled screws....but what about the oversized white plastic washers that hold the stud plate to the fender?
also after a cover/low profile/domed flat screw to replace the passenger pad thumb screw I have ...which is now stood proudly in the middle of the fender
Any suggestions on who sells something to cover the threaded stud that pokes up from beneath, when not in use?
Nut Cap HD part # 762.It is a chrome plastic cap that threads into the insert. It comes attached to the bottom of the CVO passenger seat, but can be bought separately.I use a Mustang mini fender bib to cover the big white washers under the seat tab.

so that awful lump of chrome that I noticed on the bottom of the seat (which I assumed would scratch something) is in fact a removable cap?! I'll go out and check
Thanks for the heads-up!
my seat has a small privacy skirt, I'm just being particulary OCD about getting rid of those white plastic washers
* the link above is for The Drain Buddy Sink Stopper? ...guess your bike has different plumbing to mine!

black
I did not like the white retaining washer either and found a company over in Flippin Arkansas that make black retaining washers. The company's name is Micro Plastics, Inc. Talking to their customer service they had a minimum order of I think a $100.00... which no way I need a 100 bucks of retaining washers lol but they may be able to lead you to one of their retail customer who sells in smaller quantities/singles... At a suggestion, I requested a "sample" of their part number 16FWRT007062A-B, and they sent me a dozen. You might dig thru their inventory and see if you come up with a better one than I did, but I've used those for a year now w/o issue, and I've had the seat off and on quite a few time. If you search for that part number and have issues finding it try leaving the "-B" off the end of it, thats the designator for black. You can google that part number and finding the white ones is easy... getting the black plastic is a bit tougher. https://secure.microplastics.com

hey bandflhti, skools out!
went out to the garage and pulled it out the base of the passenger seat.....THANKS!
I'd never had thought to try and remove it. I did think it was stupid to put a big metal dome on the bottom of the seat where it meets the paint
Gave the plastic bung a lick of black paint, it'll sit on the bare fender much better than my original passenger peg did up in the air (and I'll wind my thumb screw in the seat base until I need to put it back on)
Ssitruc = thanks for the details on the white plastic washers... I'll source something a little closer to home, but the specs on that site are a great help
