Greetings everyone, I have a 2016 ultra limited cvo with 15,000 mi. Ive noticed that my front end is not feeling right so I proceeded to do the front end adjustment. Found it was way to tight, it wouldnt even fall away. As per the service manual I preceded to do the adjustment by removing the fairing and loosening the pinch bolts. Heres where I ran into the problem. When I put my 1/4 socket extension into the adjustment screw, it would not budge, almost like it was frozen in there. Even with a small cheater bar on my ratchet, Nothing!
Any suggestions on the adjustment screw to get it to move would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

I’ve tried turning the adjustment screw in both directions. Manual says turn screw left to tighten bearing or turn right to loosen bearing. It will not turn in any direction. I even sprayed WD-40 up in the neck with no results. I’ll try calling my local dealer and see if they have any suggestions. Thanks
I just took mine apart. When I put the 1/4 extension and ratchet on it, it wouldnt move at first. Finally it snapped loose and turned easily. Im guessing it was screwed all the way to the bottom of the threads.
Im glad I took it apart. There was very little grease on the bearings. 33K on my bike.
The way I see it, if you are sitting in front of the bike facing the the fairing you will want to push the ratchet to the right to loosen it.
This is correct, just did mine yesterday and was able to turn the adjustment with a 1/4 drive ratchet. Mine was loose tho. Getting to the pinch bolt was the hardest, had to cut an allen wrench down but finally got it.
Thanks guys for the advise, I’ve worked on it for two days. I’m taking it to the dealer next week, I think I have a badly frozen bearing or frozen adjuster. Thanks again.
Happy Holidays!!
